we record in pro tools, we record some of these songs in a professionnal studio...
If you want to do it yourself you should really try pro tools and for all strings intrusments, you can try guitar rig, it's pretty cool!

set your goals isnt exactly harcore punk
wen i think of hardcore punk i think of crass, black flag, subhumans, GBH and bad brains but not set your goals
